Vishniac (dir: Laura Bialis, producers: Laura Bialis, Roberta Grossman) screened at the Columbus Jewish Film Festival. Vishniac takes us on a journey through photographer Roman Vishniac’s life, from pre-war Berlin to the shtetlach in Poland and Lithuania, and his time in Princeton with Albert Einstein. His achievements in art and science, especially his images of pre-Holocaust Jewish life in Central and Eastern Europe, serve as the last visual records of a vanished era.
