This year’s NYJFF featured two Claims Conference-supported titles: Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire (dir: Oren Rudavsky, prod: Annette Insdorf, Oren Rudavsky) and The Spoils (dir: Jamie Kastner, producers: Laura Baron Kastner, Jamie Kastner).
The Spoils examines the controversy behind an exhibition about Jewish art dealer Max Stern at the Düsseldorf City Museum, which was delayed by three years amidst discussions about German restitution policies. Q+A with Jamie Kastner, Clarence Epstein and Willi Korte here.
With unique access to Elie Wiesel’s family and personal archives, Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire seeks to understand the known and unknown Elie Wiesel – his passions, his conflicts and his legacy. Q+A with Oren Rudavsky and Annette Insdorf here.
