UNEARTHED International Premiere at Ji.hlava IDFF

We’re thrilled to announce that UNEARTHED (directed by Ania Szczepanska, produced by Virginia Subramaniyam) has been selected for its International Premiere in the First Lights section of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival.

The film will be screened on October 28 and October 31, 2025, as part of Ji.hlava’s 29th Festival.

In 1967, archaeologists carried out major excavations near the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, unearthing over 16,000 objects belonging to deportees. A 14-minute documentary filmed at that time became the starting point for this feature-length film. In UNEARTHED, Ania Szczepanska revisits that original footage and the story of the excavations, tracing how memory, history, and the present intersect in the process of uncovering what was once buried.

🎥 Screenings: October 28 & 31, 2025
