Two Claims Conference Filmmakers Feted with JFI Residencies

Congratulations to Leah Galant and Hilla Medalia who have been selected for the Jewish Film Institutes 2025 cohort of Filmmakers in Residence! The Residents will develop and strengthen their in-progress film projects through collaborative workshops and training, culminating in an online pitch forum in November 2025.

Leah Galant is the director of Landscapes of Memory (supported by the Claims Conference), an essay experimental feature film about the uses and abuses of collective memory.

Hilla Medalia (whose past work Numbered (2012), Shalom Italia (2016), and Adaptation to Darkness (in production) was supported by the Claims Conference), will be joining the program as she continues work on her film Missing Silver, a documentary about beloved peace activist Vivian Silver, a resident of Kibbutz Be’eiri who was murdered in the October 7th attacks on Israel.
