The Ice Cream Man, winner of the 2022 Emerging Filmmaker Contest, will be shown at the “Reel Reflections: Telling Stories of Survival and Resistance” screening, which is presented by Anne Frank LA and the Anne Frank Center at USC. The film tells the story of Ernst Cahn, a Jewish ice-cream parlor owner in Amsterdam, who, shortly after the Nazi invasion, is targeted by the notorious Klaus Barbie and must choose between resistance and death.
A Q&A with the filmmaker will follow the screening on November 4 and 5.
