To mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, Chargé d’Affaires Caroline Savage, the U.S. diplomat in Hungary, tested the prototype of If These Streets Could Talk, created by the Parallel Stories Cultural Organization — an interactive, location-based augmented reality experience situated in Budapest’s Jewish District. The project was designed to allow participants to use their mobile devices to engage with photographic overlays of archival images, holograms, and 3D character animations, grounded in rigorous historical research, to convey the Holocaust-related history of these locations.
The U.S. Embassy produced and published a compelling video documenting Ms. Savage’s experience with the project, which was shared across the Embassy’s official social media channels.
Within 24 hours of publication, the video garnered more than 60,000 views on Facebook. It is now available in full quality on YouTube
