Two Films to World Premiere at DOC NYC

Claims Conference-supported films Art Spiegelman: Disaster is My Muse and Plunderer will both have their world premieres at DOC NYC 2024.

Art Spiegelman: Disaster is My Muse (dir: Molly Bernstein, Philip Dolin, prod: Alicia Sams, Sam Jinishian) explores Art Spiegelman’s life and work, including the influence of his Holocaust-survivor parents on the creation of MAUS, his groundbreaking graphic novel. The film will screen as part of the Metropolis Competition.

Plunderer (dir: Hugo Macgregor, prod: John S. Friedman, Hugo Macgregor, David M.Milch), investigates the life of Bruno Lohse, a Nazi art dealer who stole countless masterpieces from French and Dutch families, but evaded punishment – aided by the unregulated acquiescence of the international art market. It will screen as a selection of the Investigations lineup.
