Two Claims Conference supported projects: Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire (director: Oren Rudavsky, producers: Oren Rudavsky, Avital Mandil) and My Underground Mother (director: Marisa Fox, producer: Deborah Shaffer) were awarded National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grants.
The NEH awarded a grant toward Oren Rudavsky’s production of the 90-minute documentary film, Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire, about author, educator, activist, Holocaust survivor, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel (1928–2016).
The NEH also awarded a grant toward Marisa Fox’s production of a feature-length documentary, My Underground Mother, about Jewish female slave labor during the Holocaust using as a lens one daughter’s journey to uncover her mother’s past.
