NESHOMA at Hot Docs Documentary Film Festival

Neshoma (dir: Sandra Beerends, prod: Floor Onrust) will screen at the upcoming Hot Docs Festival in Toronto. In the film, numerous excerpts from archive footage of pre-War Jewish Amsterdam and are connected by the fictional character of Rusha, a Jewish Everywoman from the interbellum, constructed from testimonies of contemporaries and survivors of the Holocaust. Additionally, on April 5th and 6th, The Spoils (dir: Jamie Kastner, producers: Laura Baron Kastner, Jamie Kastner) will have a special screening at the Rogers Theater, the home of Hot Docs. The film examines the controversy behind an exhibition about Jewish art dealer Max Stern at the Düsseldorf City Museum, which was delayed by three years amidst discussions about German restitution policies.
