Children Without a Shadow

The remarkable Holocaust story of the Jews of Belgium is told through the life of a remarkable man, professor Shaul Harel, who survived at 4 years old through the kindness of Jews and Christians alike.

Synopsis

Children Without Shadow is a film focused on life. It tells the story of Professor Shaul Harel, alias Charlie Hilsberg, hidden at the age of four at the end of 1942 and today a prominent pediatric neurologist in Tel Aviv. How did he survive during the Holocaust? How did he learn to smile again after the war? How did he rebuild himself? A story of resilience, echoing that of thousands of others. A story that he tells, finally, to his own children, grandchildren and to us spectators.
