Oren Rudavsky Presented with Yad Vashem Award at Doc Aviv

Director Oren Rudavsky was presented with DocAviv’s Yad Vashem Award, which recognizes excellence in filmmaking about the Holocaust. He was feted with the award for his work on Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire (prod: Oren Rudavsky, Tal Mandil, Michael Chomet, Annette Insdorf), a documentary that seeks to understand the man behind the searing and widely read memoir ‘Night.’ Penetrating at the heart of the known and unknown, the film dives into the author’s legacy as one of the most influential survivors of the trauma of the Holocaust.

Other Claims Conference-supported films screened at the fest were The Spoils (dir: Jamie Kastner; prod: Laura Baron Kastner) and Art Spiegelman: Disaster is My Muse (dir: Molly Bernstein, Philip Dolin, prod: Alicia Sams, Sam Jinishian).
