2 Films at Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg

Art Spiegelman: Disaster is My Muse (dir: Molly Bernstein, Philip Dolin, prod: Alicia Sams, Sam Jinishian) will screen in the Documentary Competition at JFBB. The documentary explores the work of cartoonist Art Spiegelman and the impact of his Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel Maus, about his parents’ survival of the Holocaust.

Bogdan’s Journey (dir/prod: Michal Jaskulski, Lawrence Loewinger) will screen as part of the festival’s special section “Break or continuity? “Anti-Zionism” and anti-Semitism under socialism and afterwards. Part II: Anti-Semitism in Post-Socialism”. The documentary follows a Catholic Pole who, determined to heal a historical wound, launches a crusade to reconcile Poles and Jews.
