The Most Precious of Cargoes (dir: Michel Hazanavicus, producer: Patrick Sobelman, Robert Guédiguian) is in competition at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and is the first animated feature to do so since 2008. The film is based on Jean-Claude Grumberg’s bestselling novel of the same name, about a poor woodcutter and his wife who face irrevocable change in their lives after rescuing a baby girl thrown from a transport to Auschwitz.
