Three Italian Jewish brothers set off on a journey through Tuscany,
in search of a cave where they hid as children to escape the Nazis.
Their quest, full of humor, food and Tuscan landscapes,
straddles the boundary between history and myth,
and the result of which is a profound portrait of memory and history.

About the Director

Director Tamar Tal Anati’s award-winning film “Life In Stills” won the Israeli Oscar for Best Documentary 2012 ,“Best Film” in Docaviv Film Festival in Tel aviv, Best new director in Dok Leipzig Int’l Film Festival, Germany, and many more festivals. She received more than 20 international awards. The film has been screened in more than 100 festivals around the world (HotDocs, Dokfest, One world, and more) and internationally broadcasted. “Shalom Italia” is a German-Israel co production. It premiered at AFI DOCS, DocAviv Film Festival 2016.
